Patch 0.5.1 has been released, which includes improvements and some fixes to Frostbite. It seems like a good idea to try it out first, as the actual release of the beer update was nice and relatively smooth. Well done to everyone who played and reported back – this will work well in the future.
Witchfire (0.5.1) PC Overview
There are a few minor issues, but nothing that will affect the witch hunt too much. We are heading into the Christmas and New Year break and will be back in the trenches on 7 January, completing work on Witch Mountain and beyond. Diabolic Stigma has always been thought to deal about 25% more damage than normal (critical) hits. But until recently, it was actually dealing about 25% more damage from physical hits. We fixed this, but we accidentally did so in two ways: the damage multiplier was increased, and the damage multiplier now uses Weak Spot damage as its base instead of Physical Shot damage.
We also fixed a bug that caused the siren not to work in certain situations. We also optimised the logic of the vendor UI. Purchasing multiple items in a row no longer affects framerate. Angelus’ Shield now correctly handles pushback from enemy attacks from Mysterium 1 onwards (previously it only did so for 2 and 3). As mentioned in yesterday’s update, the drinker cost has been changed. We also fixed an error that caused a warning to appear when picking up Siren’s Bark.
The Stronghold Salary Collector in Stronghold now has extra protrusions around his legs and should not kick when approaching the player. Witchfire is a first-person shooter from the creative directors of Painkiller and Bulletstorm. It’s a roguelike for those who hate roguelikes, with challenging but satisfying gameplay and multiple paths to victory. The Church is in a deadly war against witches. It is determined to win. To do this, it uses forbidden pagan magic to transform the wicked into immortal witch hunters known as supplicants. The Church has powerful spells and scary guns made by its best magicians.
