Macrium Reflect Software: Performing data backup, recovery and cloning tasks at home can be a daunting task. Home users face issues such as slow backup speeds cloud backup services make this even worse, the risk of data loss during cloning and recovery or, worse, complete failure when you need it most, and the difficulty of cloning disk drives to new hardware.
Macrium Reflect Software Home is a reliable and easy-to-use backup software. It is an indispensable tool for protecting your entire system or selected files and projects and ensuring that they can be restored at any time, even in the worst-case scenario.
is Macrium Reflect Still Free?
Yes! Macrium Reflect Software is free for a lifetime activation we provide on Denet Soft. The free version allows you to backup and restore files and clone drives, but it does not include additional features such as incremental backups and password protection. Macrium Reflect Unable to Dismount Volume?
To avoid a cloning error in Macrium Reflect that can’t unmount the volume, make sure there are no progress or programs in the accounts to be deleted. To open Task Manager, press Ctrl+Shift+Esc, right-click the progress used by the volume, and select End task.
Macrium Reflect VS Acronis
I’ve been using Acronis TrueImage for years and have no real complaints about the product, but today I was reading an old issue of Maximum PC and in an article about data backup, readers were recommended to use Macrium ReflexFree. I downloaded a copy and backed up my hard drive to a spare USB drive, and had no problems with the backup. Later, I even double-clicked on the backup file and it was mounted as a virtual disk that was assigned an E: letter, just like Acronis does.
So I have a question for those who have used Acronis and now use Macrium – how do they compare?
For me, Acronis seems to have too many add-ons, forcing users to buy the latest version every year. I only back up to USB hard disks and the only thing I want is to be able to restore the hard disk from a backup if I do something stupid like format the drive or if it breaks down and I have to restore the backup to the new drive.
I have a PC and a laptop, and I’ve managed to restore the laptop several times just by downloading the Acronis CD and restoring the backups, so I assume Macrium Reflect Software has a similar restore functionality. When I’m just making backups, two free copies seem better than an annual upgrade fee.
I’m worried about whether Macrium is as reliable as Acronis because I lost everything a few years ago with another backup product that seemed to work until I had to do a restore and Acronis never let me down, but if Macrium is as good or even better, I’ll probably switch to it.
Aomei Backupper vs Macrium Reflect Workstation
Aomei Backupper Pros
- Compatibility, efficiency, ease of use, reasonable price, good technical support and a very good and easy-to-use backup platform.
- It is very easy to use, has an excellent design and works exactly as it should. It is easy to use to backup any data on my computer and I liked it.
- Simple interface and is certainly one of the best free backup tools I have used. The ability to create incremental, differential or full backups is excellent.
Aomei Backupper Cons
- I reinstalled the special version, which they compiled and made available on Google Drive. I no longer get BSODs, but backups fail with error code 4140, both scheduled and manual.
- The worst part was contacting AOMEI support and getting a response that said, “Yes, this can happen, and we didn’t even investigate.
- The backup set cannot be read in File Explorer, which is annoying.
Macrium Reflect Pros
- Fortunately, I had done a full backup the night before and with the help of a friendly technician the restore went very smoothly – and miraculously everything started working again.
- Tech support was also very responsive and helpful (on the few occasions we needed help). It is one of the most important and valuable tools in our toolbox.
- It’s good to keep the IT department calm because backups are always being made.
Macrium Reflect Cons
- It’s hard to criticise when you’re doing so well. Perhaps the app is a bit too intrusive when it comes to registration: it asks for too much information.
- You have to pay for it. It is a little difficult to back up or synchronise files.
- You need a certain level of knowledge to use this tool, otherwise, you can damage disks and bad things can happen.
